Some people have always had a different view on the world. These people look deeper and see further. They sense shadows and feel textures.

The people living in Finland have always had a strong connection to nature. Their rocks, rivers, forests and their animals has given them powerful instincts and strong intuition. Their design approach is influenced by nature, Finnish folklore and traditional decorative arts with a modern twist.

Klaus Haapaniemi is probably most famous for his illustrations. They are usually detailed and imaginative with references to mythology and Finnish folklore. After graduating as a graphic designer from the Lahti Institute of Design, Finlan the now London-based creative has had no shortage of success. We also produce limited edition series, which are hand finished.

Our collection includes woven tapestry cushions and woven silk brocade pillows. Innoitusta haetaan esimerkiksi taiteen maailmasta, baletista ja musiikista. Together their aim is to create lasting textile products in pure and luxurious materials combining traditional weaving techniques with modern prints and sophisticated colours.

He has created a number of fanciful prints for theof iittala and Marimekko, distinguishing himself with his ornamental style.

At the start of the design process, my vision was a collection of products with a mood born of Nordic aesthetics. I wanted to include mystery and playfulness in the set’s decorative world.

Later in life, Klaus inherited Kankainen manor from his sister. All in all, towards the end of is life, lord Klaus was one of biggest and wealthiest landowners in Finland. Luonnonmukaisista materiaaleista valmistetut tuotteet on myös suunniteltu kestämään leikkiä ja pesua.

For two consecutive years, he designed the general Christmas display for the major Tokyo department store, Isetan.
